Session is a productivity reminder with specific permission, scan, commerce, verification, and recovery boundaries.
Does Session unlock my iPhone?
No. Reminder Only does not shield apps. If Focus Lock is separately made available and you authorize Family Controls, it can shield only the apps, websites, or categories you select. Session cannot control the iPhone lock screen or remove restrictions applied by Apple, another app, or system policy.
Is Session a Pomodoro timer?
No. Session can support an existing Pomodoro or interval routine by giving it a return point, but it is not a generic countdown timer.
Why does Session ask for notification permission?
Notifications let Session call you back at the time you confirm. If permission is denied, restricted, or notifications are delayed by the system, Session cannot promise an exact alert. Review notification settings or create a new return plan after access is restored.
Why does Session ask for camera permission?
Camera access is requested only when you enter a usage-screen scan flow. It photographs a supported coding-agent usage screen for on-device interpretation. Denying camera access leaves manual timing and safe recovery paths; it does not grant Session access to other photos or a Mac display.
Which providers and screens are supported?
Session recognizes only the provider usage-screen formats explicitly listed inside the current app. A familiar-looking screen, unsupported provider, stale view, missing reset data, or changed layout can be rejected. Session does not connect to a provider account or promise generic provider support.
What happens when a scan is ambiguous?
Session asks you to refresh, recapture, or confirm the interpreted provider and time. Low confidence, conflicting values, stale data, unsupported layouts, and critical manual edits cannot become Accepted Verification. You can choose a manual Reminder Only plan instead.
What is Accepted Verification?
Accepted Verification is a fresh supported scan that matches the active provider, usage window, and chosen reset target. OCR confidence alone is not enough, and Session does not treat manual edits or an unsupported screen as verification.
What does manual completion do?
Manual completion closes the Session reminder and records that outcome separately. It is not Accepted Verification, does not prove provider availability, and does not activate a subscription or unavailable Focus Lock capability.
What is Recovery Unlock?
Recovery Unlock is a safety path for a Session-owned shield when scanning is unavailable, repeatedly fails, or the required capability is revoked. It can clear only the restriction Session applied. It does not remove Screen Time controls owned elsewhere, and Session reports failure instead of claiming success when it cannot confirm its own shield cleared.
How do purchases and restores work?
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple and checked through RevenueCat. A completed purchase, pending transaction, or restore attempt does not unlock Session by itself; current Session Pro entitlement verification is required. Billing changes and refunds are handled through Apple.
How does Session measure product use?
When valid production configuration exists, privacy-minimal PostHog product analytics starts enabled with a persistent opt-out, while Session Replay remains removed from scope. RevenueCat commerce continues independently. IDFA-free AppsFlyer attribution follows the same Product Measurement opt-out, and the current stack uses no ATT or IDFA. Marketing Email Consent is separate and starts unchecked.
